Message from the president

The moment you enter our School, you will be surrounded by music. The building of the Sengawa Campus has evolved with time with a new concert hall and new classrooms, but the atmosphere has remained unchanged, and whenever our alumni visit, they say that it brings back their school days instantly.

Toho Gakuen School of Music started out as the Music School for Children, followed by the High School, College Music Department, and the Graduate School. Committed to integrated education from the outset, the students have always enjoyed a close relationship with the seniors and teaching staff, and it is a unique music school where students can study in a free and family-like environment. While some study here from an early age, many start from High School, College Music Department, or the Graduate School, and strong bonds are forged every time newcomers join.

Many of our graduates have ventured out into the world as musicians, and we are very proud of their achievements. As well as soloists, many are active as orchestral musicians or chamber musicians.

However, the career of a musician is not restricted to the stage of a large concert hall. It includes fields such as health care, social welfare, and education. Furthermore, the knowledge and people skills developed in music are increasingly in demand by business people, and opportunities will surely expand in the future.

Toho Gakuen hopes to respond to such needs of the society and to the students’ motivation to study, and to nurture musicians who will create the music culture of the future.
