The Conducting Course, which is based on a unique instruction method developed by Professor Hideo Saito, one of the founders of Toho Gakuen School of Music, has produced a large number of conductors who are now active in the musical scene both in Japan and overseas. Besides helping students develop their own conducting technique, one of the essential features of the curriculum is that it allows students to conduct orchestras and choruses, as well as participate in opera classes. The same level of instruction in conducting technique is provided to those taking conducting as a subsidiary course.
